Titanic

Titanic

A Poem by Aehr

Lost in deep shadows
Veiled by ocean
Home of singing spirits
Who died innocent

Once so majestic
Once so huge
Like it ruled the seas
Now, lifeless

Death
On her maiden voyage
A tragic end
Of a life not yet begun

Sits at the bottom of the ocean
Silent, and helpless
Once, so flamboyant
Once, so beautiful

Blank/free verses have their own beauty ... Could be better, but well described.
Paints the perfect picture !

A poem doesn't have to rhyme to be magnificent. I often find myself thinking of the overall sad ending of the Titanic at the oddest of times. It's nice to see those thoughts brouht up and then buried a little with a good poem.

Powerful use of words

Titanic will always be one of the great mysteries. Many lived to tell the tale. I believe the Titanic going down was like a battle in war. Time become seconds and seconds became life. No weakness in the excellent poem.

poetry doesn't have to always rhyme :) I liked that it didn't actually. Made it more somber.
