Prison

Prison

A Poem by Aehr

Iron bars clanking
Frustration in my veins
Tired of the darkness
The old, boring games

Colourless dreams now fading too
Leisure is something I can't recall
My friends and family hate me
I'm like a forgotten old rag doll

I'm a caged phoenix at heart
One not yet risen
And I'll spread my wings and fly again
Once I escape this prison

oh, thanks for all the reviews, Quartz. Do you want me to return the favour? I'll be glad to!
This is a well weaved poem. Short, simple but meaningful. I can say that all your feelings and what you want us to feel is well conveyed in this great poem of yours. DO your best to get out of that prison and surely you would be free again (:

Any kind of prison is hard to take. I like the description. Using myth and thoughts made the reader understand the desire for freedom. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
