Among these hills

Among these hills

A Poem by Ritz
"

It's about how much I loved the feeling of going back home after studying outside for a long while.

"

On these hills wind my way homeward
These familiar roads I have traveled long ago

On a gypsy packed with plain goods
I’ve come home for a long while

These winding roads that take me home
Like before, they are still beautiful

Now on my mind, there’s nothing but joy
I’m in no hurry to trade this feeling

There in the doorway my mom stood
I ran to hug her for I’ve missed this place

Then in the kitchen everything felt like home again
Siblings together around a spark of fire

Like old times we chattered away
Relishing what we’ve had all this while

Among these hills where home is
I’ll always come back for a toast to living
