that last line made me cringe...and feel for my tongue to make sure it was not bleeding.

this reminds me of a line in an elton john song..'love lies bleeding in my hand"---

Jeepers this is deep Marie - and decidedly Gothic I thought - and clever. I love the word 'heel' - reminds me of Cagney and Bogart when men were 'heels' while across the pond they were 'cads'.
Any love is better than no love - Im with you on that. Love's fires that we stoke in preparation - feathering the nest if you will, even if not shared still give their own warmth.
'kiss the blade' - damn !! (I wish I'd written that)

Oh thats who GH is - well I never saw House, but I loved Hugh Laurie as Bertie Wooster in the TV version of PG Wodehouses (hey look another 'house' - uncanny eh?) Jeeves and Wooster. It was a riot. AND - he is quite the bluesman too. look
