SUNSET II

SUNSET II

A Poem by Marie
"

And yet another sunset poem...

"

Going Home

Peacock in the Western sky

Fans out colours bright and bold:

Coral, turquoise, amethyst

Flutter on the spreading gold.

Now dark copper clouds ignite

With the final burning rays;

Swirling colours melt to bronze,

Feathers blacken in the blaze.

Every time I read your poems I feel I'm lost in the deepness of your thoughts & the boldness of your words. Pleasure to have you as my friend. Thank you very much madam!

Pleasure is mine!
This is, by far, the most beautiful description of a sunset I've ever read! :)

Thank you.
I'm a sunset fanatic here. I love it how you kept this so short and yet so good that while reading this, it just put a smile on my face.

Yes, all sunsets are special.
Sunsets are truly amazing, and I enjoyed this one a lot. About now, I imagine the sun is especially welcome in your part of the country.

Actually, it's starting to get hot in San Antonio.
I love watching sunrises and sunsets... the new beginnings... the wondrous endings... and you paint this sunset with endless, wild colors... Loving it even more. :)

This is a beautiful piece of imagery! I like the peacock comparison in there, the whole poem made it easy for me to paint a picture in my mind. I also like the last line "Feathers blacken in the blaze", it brings an awesome closure to the whole peacock analogy.

It's not always easy to have a rhyming poem without some words sounding awkward, but you did it wonderfully. Everything here flows so naturally, it's perfect.

Please continue writing. I eagerly await to read your work!
