I am hanging onto life by a thread

One more fray and it I will shed

Take one step forward best I can

Someone takes me by the hand

Pulls me three steps behind

Puts another crack inside of my mind

Be better off on the backside of dirt

At least I would no longer feel the hurt

Or face the future that I so dread
