A Poets Heart

 

Poets are the hardest ones to love.

They show you who they are from the writings you discover.

 

You fall in love with their heart or the way they right from the start.

But a poet's heart is complicated at best and can never be laid to rest.

 

Maybe it’s just me and I am just a romantic at the worst.

But the heart of this poet is open for all to see, so take and set me free.

 

Take me as I am I will love you until the end.

I am just a romantic poet who can never be totally free.

 

My writing is a passion some say it’s a disease.

But I write what’s in my heart in the hope it will set me free.

 

Take me as I am, I am a poet begging to be free. Nevertheless, my heart is caged and I would not have it any other way.

Wow Ron where did this one come from? I absolutely love it.. I would say being a poet is not a disease but in someways it can be a curse as much as a blessing.. We have no choice but to lay our heart open to bleed ink for the rest of the world.. One of the lines in something I wrote a while back reads "for more then once by muse and my ink have conspired against me" Even things we try to hide usually spill onto our pages.. Its hard to have secrets when your pen keeps showing the world the skeletons in the closets.. I am so glad we met.. Thank you sweet Ron.. xo Rose

There is nothing wrong with being a poet.
As long as you are the one who wrote it.
Some say poetry is the greatest gift to give.
Others say clearly it is the only way to live.
As for you, I say keep writing and journey on.
For in time you will find this love sought beyond.

*Grin* And no, poets aren't the hardest people to love. Crocodiles and sharks, that comes pretty close tho. Hang in there - and write on ! :)

I don't know. People who love the word. Need many dances and a lot of experiences. Making then hard to hold down and really understand love and commitment. A writer need a wild soul to keep their spirit alive and strong. I like the logic of your poetry. A caged heart cannot whisper sweet words of happiness and life.
