Friendship and Love

 

How should I feel, torn between a friendship that can only stay a friendship,

and a need to feel love.

 

I dare not seek what can never be,

if friendship is all I am allowed to feel.

 

I am grateful for having at least that.

For true love, seems like it will never happen.

 

I am just a silly man who makes a few sentences rhyme.

Foolishly, I paint what I long for.

 

I do not regret not having love.

For it is something not everyone finds.

 

Besides, I do not think I would make a good lover,

I have been without it for so long.

 

I have not had much experience in it.

Except, in the recesses of my mind.

This brought up so many feeling for me it's like Ive lived this ... I was a virgin til I was 33 Im now 34 so the last 2 lines rang so very true for me even made me a little teary lol I think that's why I naturally fell into writing erotic poetry cause all I had for so long was my dreams and my imagination and for me writing poetry was a sexual act more reveling than flesh

That does make for good material in erotic poetry. I think some write it as a means to do what they have not or they are not willing to do for real.

It is amazing to me how our romances differ from each other or maybe it is how we express it like between you and Jack and others. All unique and special...Pen on...:)

You know Ron, sometimes the greatest writers are not those who have actually lived the experience, but are those that can "feel" the experience, the joy of it, the sorrow of it, the loss of it.......not all shall have the true love they desire, and will feel the pain of not having it, but if one can take those feelings and capture them in words, you never know how they may help another who is as you as you can relate to them. You shall ever feel, write, paint, express in your way, but we pleased with who you are! We are all used in different ways - allow yourself to continue to do so!!
And, don't ever give up hope no matter how dark the day seems..........that love may still be just around the corner!
