You let me go

You let me go

A Poem by ron

You let me go

Come to me,

Lie in my arms under a soft Italian sunset.

There is a place West of Folloncia,

On the small island of Portoferraio, you will find me on,

Isolotto d’ Ortano.

Soft breezes flow over our bodies,

As the waves, caress the shore.

Kiss me…kiss me one last time, my sweet love.

Soft breathing…gentle languid touches.

Lie with me until our last sunrise.

This will not be goodbye.

You let me go, the tears cry for our love.

You walked away; you let me go.

Until we met again…

Thank you. She has not left me physically, she left me emotionally,. Kind of hard to explain.
This was lovely. Soft and sweet with a bit of a sad ending yet you give the ending an opening for her to come back. xo Winter

Not an opening for her. Its how I feel about her but I guess in a veiled way it was meant for some o.. read more
This is very soft and wistful, as the wind you describe so eloquently. I find that one of the most difficult things in life is knowing when to remain vigilant, and hold on - or when it's time to let go and move on in life... but I enjoyed the positive outlook at the end, "until we meet again"

beautiful, thank you for sharing.

... you let me go ? There are many ways of looking at this. She is setting you free - or she is setting herself free ? Definitely bittersweet and hard to swallow, well written, Ron.

A romantic piece Ron.....that left me feeling a little sad however. Not sure if that was the intent. It is hard when someone "let's go", especially when you are not ready for them to leave. I do like however that you ended with "until we meet again", it holds hope.

*just noticed that little typo-- I think you mean *meet*, not *met*. Although re-reading it, "met" could imply that you did in fact meet again. LOL
