How alone it feels in the field of my thoughts,

afraid to speak my true feelings.

 

If you could hear the whispers of my heart,

would you run from me?

 

Would you shy away from how I feel?

 

I dare not say a word,

to have you as a friend is better then losing you forever.

 

Yes I want to feel you close,

I want to kiss, you hold you, share with the world we are together.

 

But I know we can’t,

I know you may find another to share your feelings with.

 

But for now...

at least your my friend.

This makes a lot of sense.What if you told your friend that you had feelings for them and then things get awkward.You essentially lose them .Better that they are your friend than nothing at all :)
