In the shadows...

 

 

...Lies my heart.

Just out of sight, for it is afraid to come out.

 

Could you feel it as you pass by?

Do you know how it beats and sighs?

 

This heart of mine,

beats in time with yours (though you may never know).

 

I hid it in the shadows of a star,

the one just out of sight.

The one nobody ever sees.

 

I can’t ask you to feel the same,

just know it beats quietly, hidden in the shadows of a distant star.
