As the rest of the world lay sleeping,

I lie awake and think of you.

You left so suddenly i didnt get a chance to say goodbye.

 

Was God punishing me?

And if so why?

Did i deserve to lose such a great friend,

Someone i hold so near and dear to my heart?

How could you hurt me the way you did?

 

Was God punishing me then too?

And if so why?

Did i deserve to be abused by you?

To be scared for life?

I lie awake and think of what i did to you.

The way i crushed your heart, the one you gave willingly.

 

Was God punishing you then?

Did you deserve what you got?

NO

Was God punishing me?

Did I not deserve the love you offered?

YES
