Hey grandad!

 

"Are you there".

I tought I felt your presence when I lay down weeping on my bed.

When my pillow was soaked in tears
 

I tought I felt you stroke my hair
 
Was it you who came as a young

man into my dreams

 

Or was it you who

gave me the strenght to conquer all my fears
 
"Hey grandad! Did you catch my falling child
 
When she got into difficulty there back a little while.

Hey grandad! "You know I love you right"
 
          I know I only shared  in a small part of your life.

You were amazing that is without a boubt

Always welcomed me with open arms.

your love just shone right out.

Hey grandad! "Hows granma!
 
"You taking care of her up there"
 
Is she filling the heavens with plenty

of laughter a cheer
 
          Was she cooking up a storm

when she welcomed her children home
 
Did Aroma's fill the air from her freshly baked

bread and homemade scones.

"Granma" you are amazing and thats without a boubt
 
I was so happy to share in you laughter
 
just before your time on earth ran out
 
Amazing and inspiring is what you are
 
The heavens gained a angel, when god took you back into his arms
 
Hey grandad and granma, Will you do me a favor?
 
Will you watch over my parents, in times

when they really need you there

 

They are amazing just like the both of you

 

They worked there very best just like you both did to.

"Hey grandad and granma" Ill aways think of you
 
when things get tough on earth my prayers will flow to you.

 

One day we will shall all be reunited in the arms of each other.

This has beautiful thoughts .. and I think it would read better as a story .. When you center improperly , it divides sentences , and takes away from the flow .. Also spell check might be a good idea here .. .. You have beautiful things to share, and I feel your loving heart in everything you write ..

Life is unbearably sad in many ways. The prospect of age is a heavy one. I find myself looking more often at old people in the street and find it very difficult to imagine how they once were. How do we get so old? It is a strange thing. Perhaps being a grandparent is one of the few consolations, esp if we are appreciated in the way you show is possible in your poem. Old people are so often just there, a sort of living background to our lives. But we will be with them one day. Cue, BLUE OYSTER CULT ... DON'T FEAR THE REAPER.

Such a sweet and loving poem, both a tribute and a reminder of memories and hopes; sad in a way, yet gentle and utterly appreciative of what those dear people were and still can be in spirit.

A few typos but nothing takes away the tenderness.

Awww, this is such a sweet tribute. I know losing someone we loved is hard but knowing their are always guiding us and is always there even if their not physically here anymore.. gives us strength. I remember when my grandpa died.. i felt his presence comforting me as I cried so hard. And I got overwhelmed by peace somehow.. and i knew it was him giving me strength. This was a lovely piece. Nicely done!
