Moonlight

Moonlight

A Poem by Rosie Brooklin

I loved you.
With every breath, every step, and every beat of my heart,
I loved you.
You were the moon, and I was the sea,
but you never saw the waves you caused.
Each night, I swelled, desperately seeking your attention
And I quickly fell, crashing from your rejection
As I watched you fade over the horizon.
But none of that mattered to me
Because you were the moon, and I was the sea
Oh, how I love you, still.

This is so powerful. I could almost feel your pain, your agony. I am perversely drawn to poems that include the moon. I have quite a few here that I posted.

So very beautiful but some live is not meant to be - sometimes rejection is Gods protection and the others loss- all part of the journey - but I wish your heart the happiness it deserves just as the moon and sea become one- beautiful words🌹
