ProgressA Poem by Alex McFadyen
In the beginning We were a snowball Rolling down a mountain Augmenting to avalanche Destruction was the path we travelled But I do not mourn for the weak For life succumbed to the more lively Where all the forests All the happy little forest creatures Returned to the Earth with the power of Phoenix Now humanity is Titanic Traveling from creek to river to ocean Growing and accelerating exponentially Like a cancer, like a plague, like perfection Possibilities multiply Our world grows with it From flatness To roundness To boundless Three dimensional directions Undefined limits We are the masters of survival And we will tap the powers of a million suns Like Gods Bound to the trenches of time Immorality will be our reality And euphoria will barrage from us from all directions But I pray that we never experience true peace Because destruction is the path we travelled and will travel again Change is destruction’s face and progress is its heart So hit me with everything you got. © 2008 Alex McFadyenReviews
