Desert Sunrise

Desert Sunrise

A Poem by russ

Sunrise over the desert

A Glorious blazing spectacle of molten fire,

claws it's way through the clouds and fog

over the mountains to the east.

As the last lingering shadows are washed away

with warm, soft, glowing Orange light,

The Sun stands tall over the valley,

Unblinking,

and the creatures of the Night seek refuge in their holes

I've not been to the desert in many years, but your excellent poem brought those wonderful memories back. As you describe, whenever the sun meets the horizon, a true spectacle unfolds.

I love the vision you describe, I've never experienced a desert sunrise - sound beautiful though

Very good description of the Desert night. I spend many nights at Fort Irvin training. The new creatures appear when the moon overtake the night. You create good visions and memories with your good description. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
