BookmarkA Poem by RustyThis is an initial first draft and a work I am quite sure I shall return to work on further...Bookmark There’s a little book upon your shelf Simply called "Your Life" I placed there so you could look When you needed a break from strife
I hope that you will take it down When you find the need Find a cozy chair and dim the lights Take a deep breath and slow the worlds speed
It has happiness and childhood dreams Troubles more than one could bear Lofty heights on fancy flights Good acts Good deeds Bad hair
It tells tales of loves you lost And disappointments that you bore Stories of the dragons you slayed Your battles and your wars
It has the stories of peaceful dreams Details of what you want Lists of things you didn’t need But find they are things you got
It tells how you have laughed with joy Times when you’ve been annoyed Callous hands meddled in your life And left you quite destroyed
I wanted you to have it close When you have the need To lift your spirits or soothe a bruise I encourage you to read
But the reason that I put it there The thing I ask you to read A bookmarked page to a chapter Simply titled me
Don’t tear the page or lose this book In happiness I find The times when I felt the best When we were side by side
Though I cannot stand with you today Know I always care In your book I once lived I left my bookmark there
