The bell

The bell

A Poem by Rusty

It pealed across my ears
I swore I could see its sound
Resonates for years
To this place I am found
Echoes off my life
Cascades across my ponds
Written in my bones
The sonnet carries on
As if the Pharro's task
Was to bury it with sand
Setting fast the sail
Never seeking land
Bought with a burden
Forever I will run
From the toll of this bell
I never should have rung

How many times have I been in this place, wishing I could close my eyes and start again, but of my own demise I fell into its clutches. I love this...very much love this.

. oh ... this is an epic ... thou art the quintessential poet ... who else could say "I swore I could see its sound" ... and ...

"Written in my bones
The sonnet carries on"

. not sure if this is correct ... but i'm guessing this piece is an allegory ... it's amazingly beautifully written ...
