A life lived not to its fullest potential,
Or a life lived with the greatest of enthusiasm and vigor.
Two points of view, two sets of eyes, each see utterly different things.
And yet when these lives come to their inevitable conclusion,
Do the different paths not converge?
Converge on the same yearning for one more minute, one more kiss, one more smile?
Is it possible to look death in the eye and not blink?
Hesitation, it would seem, is only human.
A lack of certainty in face of the most Uncertain is only logical.
Yet time after time, over and over again, Logic and Hesitation are bested.
Bested by their singular foe which knows none better: Faith.
Faith has watched and learned from all their shortcomings.
It has seen where they have failed to deliver, to inspire
The peace we so desperately crave as our consciousness concludes.
Faith screams and pleads, "There's a better way!
Follow me, I'll show you the path to solace in finality."
And it delivers.
There is no greater set of circumstances in life
Than which emotions and actions surround those final moments.
With so much riding on the outcome of these moments,
Who's to resist such an infallible guarantee?
And so for all its downfalls, all its inequities, all its misgivings,
It appears that Faith continues to hold the ace of spades.
