If You Can't See

If You Can't See

A Poem by Soph

I cut my hair,
stopped eating,
stopped talking.
Yet you try to tell me
you didn't see?

All you ever see
are the sunsets
at the beach,
a field of red roses.
I know what your goal is.

If you can't see,
open your eyes.
If you can't breathe,
open a window.
If you're trapped,
open the door.

Everything you choose to do,
at the end of the day,
is on you.

It touched my heart. It hurts when they can't see what's in front of them. We scream in silence, hoping to be understood but when words fail, silence becomes our shelter.
