cold breeze

cold breeze

A Poem by Matthew L. Arcelay
"

written as pace, with influence by my wife Belle aka princess arcelay

"

cold breeze
through my window it dances along my face and cheek
with my warm blanket
i cover
not to hide from the cold
but to embrace the memories i've left behind
i picture sunshine smiles under blanket tents
with wild hair and my best friend
playing card games and telling ghost stories
the wind whistling like haunted melodies
and youthful giggles become sacred phrases
read off of scribbled rune stones pebbles really
colored on by crayolas but no less magic
my window a magic mirror in the form of an open blanket
teddy bears rest as me and my best friend warm up
the land of make believe makes our tent an igloo
where eskimo kisses become passionate embraces
i fall asleep in my best friends arms
dreaming by our window on the world
a cold breeze and a smile
all wrapped up in a warm blanket and my
mmmmmmmmmmm
