steps

 

 

Lao tzu said the journey of a thousand begins with the first step
999 strides later
shifted trails leave no trace of where I've been
steps counted backwards
a few pitfalls dusted off
i almost gave up at the 666
i take my last and catch my breath
look back and begin again
realizing with answers come more questions
like how revolutions only revolutionize the day when the day is seized
but the heart is evolutions seed
could be why the heart bleeds
hard to face the reality of our duality
is mind and instinct in sync savagely
talkative prerogatives become instructional blueprints
this is how you do this echoes off clueless
poignantly painted pictures of dazzled dreams
become mechanical screams

begin again i come to a fork in the road I hunger so i set my place
decisions decisions
do I take what's left?
or do I go write ......
told to step up or step off
i pull the pin and toss
this is my stand so I go write
explosive thought's can scatter brains
we all feel pain
carried on the shoulder it ways us down
but when we ride it we transverse the expanse of verse
in a thought get lost and find rebirth
in it i discovered the blessing and the curse
a smile and a smirk
take em both and step into the next chapter
