spare a dime?
A Poem by Matthew L. Arcelay
written as flobo
casually I watch the passers by
occasionally my words float on high
buddy can you spare a dime
sidewards glances and awkward smiles
as magicians perform slight of hand
slipping bills from folds easily as eliciting giggles from a child
steadfast in my sugerhigh I willynilly listen to the drumbeats
of cook pans and buckets plunking soothing music that sway people one way then the next
man I love the way you play that spoon without missing a beat
four souls singings soulful
dowhoping oldtime memories
caught in one of those nine moment's floating
acrobatic youths impress and amaze in confined spaces
between to poles and the low rumble this happening as the day shifts without a stumble
pass that hat around and look at the time
hey brother can you spare a dime? |
