An English Sonnet…

 

These are the days when wrongs become so trite

When might makes right, detritus of “Evil”

My elation is that we cease all fight

And twist not justice to cause upheaval.

 

We have unpaid bills due to one another

A reminder that life carries those scars

Woven in its fabric all souls’ attire

Stitched of timeless “Love”, heartbeats of stars.

 

Who can brush off biggest lies that we tell

Fetching the truth in every thoughtful way

In us the worst enemies do dwell

Whose faces we seek in others’ long sway?

 

As the world spins out of our control

Outlive the day in good grace sans turmoil.

Sami, if only we could live in and with grace, but alas, when it is possible to live life differently, to put lies and a system of evil into the dustbin of history, then why should we not fight? Will our looking out for ourselves help all those affected in the worst possible ways by this "evil" and "lies", and in the end ourselves as well? Complicity, and silence, not just acknowledges, but allows lies and evil to continue. And as history has shown us over and over, "the dust does not go away without using a broom". And it is definitely time for many brooms to be used.

Wow! So true and well articulated. I believe in fighting the good fight not the evil ones. In vocal ways or hamd ways, we should confront the true enemy within and without.
I know you and I are on the same page.
People are easily conned by sly leaders who play on their biases and prejudices; not you and I. Religious leaders do that by brain-washing the sheep.
Thank you kindly for all.
This was only dreams in the heart and heart of day, but not reality as we know it.
