A prose poem

The day I saw you

was an instant “Valentine’s Day”

a rivalry of emotions

a smorgasbord of thoughts

a legacy of love to stay

tucked away in my heart’s emporium shelves

calling jazz quartets regular guests on the show

a smooth, grandiose experiment in fancy delights

like Mistletoes over the head

past the hapless dread of endless lonely nights.

The day I saw you

I showed signs of new life

Thus, began energy and purpose

A new gallant man or soldier

to who service was a gift

a counter-thinker of impressions ready to be molded

and ripe for picking a different palaver of veracity in action 

a verdant, green paradise.

The day I saw you

was born to die; now born to live

and pay love a deserved homage.

WHOA!! Sami is in LUVVVVV!! So, the old heart has done flip-flops and become young again. It might be a "prose poem", as you say, but what I read was poetry in motion, a love poem supreme!! Or as you wrote, "veracity in action / a verdant green paradise". Now that is a poem deserving of homage!!!
