GlassA Poem by Sarah
Could you see it in her eyes?
A glassy reflection Where pain and sorrow could hide Society's rejection But the distance apart Slowly started to crumble And her shadow stretched out far As she began to stumble She tried to find you You watched her fade And alone she stood Day after day The glass was broken Beneath her feet & you stepped toward her in pain. Your hand falls through her skin So cold, so thin And you grasp her stone cold heart As it slowly shatters apart The pieces mend the glass below A pathway at your feet She watches you walk steadily away Her heart without a beat. © 2015 SarahAuthor's Note
