ArtA Poem by Mae ArrowoodWhen I painted your lips on the canvas, a shiver flew down my spine, spreading to my roots and resounding in the ground. Even as a replacement for your touch, I could taste your cologne, feel your voice. It was as if you had surrounded me in an embrace, and our hands had broken the barriers, forming a bridge to each other. I painted on your eyes, and their gaze melted me. I dribbled down the steps, leaving a trail of longing behind me. Then I looked up, and it truly was you. A stale greeting was offered, nothing more, and as you turned to leave, the wind from your shoulder took my breath away. and I still can't breathe.
