Charon

Charon

A Poem by LoneStranger

I have gold in my eyes

that glimmers in the fading sun

as I make my way down

that old dusty road

to the riverbed.

"I'm tired of wandering,"

I say to Old Charon.

"Take me yonder, to the place

where I might rest my weary soles."

"My son, you haven't got the toll,"

he said to me.

"Go back up till your time is done,

you'll have rest soon enough."
