Act I

Act I

A Poem by Miesha

insecurity kills.
it buries itself deep within your soul and attacks you from the inside
"you'll never be good enough"
"you're too fat, too thin, too ugly"
and you're left stranded at the waves of confidence
afraid to go in because you just might drown
what's the point, anyway
Heaven knows that the water isn't enough to dissolve all your insecurities
and you're just there
nowhere to turn, nowhere to look
insecurity kills.
with a knife as sharp as gossips' words
and poison as deadly as toxic backbiting
you're dead on the inside
you just don't know it.
