Dearest Pillow of SaltA Poem by Kadi
Pillow of salt, there’s something you must know
For I trust to tell who can muffle so well I am at fault for these nightly rainshows Soaking you in hope of pretty pastels There’s a girl, you see, who loves through her word When her letters arrive, rare as they do My patience has brought that messenger bird “Such pretty papers!”, I scream into you Written is inflorescence, grown for me Let’s wait at the window, stiff on the chair Another will come, at last you’ll be free She’ll send us gardenia gifts to share Pillow, I’ve cried thirty-one nights since then Pillow, I’ll cry thirty-one nights again © 2025 KadiAuthor's Note
