HE by Saunved.A Poem by saunvedA poem about how death lurks around the corner and strikes when you least expect it to!
Hard, resolute,
with deep, blank eyes; he looked at me. A stern glance, of hidden pity, a grim smile, showing his teeth, a hand calling me, towards the endless eternity! He let his coat slide, by an inch or so, and he showed me; his hand...pale, white, his palm though, was scarred...sooty, his fingers...like slender sticks... He walked a step forward, yet he did not blink, and his eyes froze- in disbelief. For I accepted him, for I smiled, for I welcomed him, for I called to him! In a flash he was gone, beyond eye-sight, for I searched him all around, yet...none like him did I find! He was an angel, one who showed me life, the one who told me how to live it, how and what...where to find! In that moment, I lived a thousand lives alone, for when he came to take me, I was already no more. © 2012 saunvedAuthor's Note
