How Long?

how long

until I have my mind back

until I can think without him in my thoughts

until I no longer stay up at night hoping in vain

until I stop wishing up a star for you

until I look at you one day and think what did I ever see in you

until I start being myself again?

but I know

how long

it will be

an eternity

because he will always have

a place in my heart

because once you start

to love someone

you can't take

back that piece of you

that you gave away
