Goodnight

Goodnight

A Poem by Christopher
"

This is a poem I wrote for the most precious person in my life. The idea was lifted from a message I had sent her as a response to a realization that Buttercup was slowly sinking into my heart again. And that I may lose her, again...

"

She gave the perfect ending
for our evenings, nice and tight.
Graceful punctuation,
to seal the day up right.

The simple two-word message,
of comfort, so implied.
Our closeness drawn together,
without her by my side.

Just an honest salutation,
no feelings left to hide.
It's silly that I miss it.
My evenings end untied.

I know that I read into things,
meanings, that have no life.
This one meant a lot to me,
not as final as goodbye...
