I can't stand the spelling of LOVE!

I can't stand the spelling of LOVE!

A Poem by LSS
"

The power of marriage is in two people giving it 100%. That totals 200%, more than enough to keep going on.

"

I can't stand the spelling of L O V E.

Some say, 'It fits me like a glove.'

Yet, when they are in need,

  Want someone to heed,

They get only 'Best wishes, with love!'

I'd rather the spelling be B O R E D.

Then no one would think interest was stored,

They would get up and say,

  I'll be going my way.

And as friends they would not be abhored.

Yet I tell you there's also a F E W,

Who get up every morning renewed.

They've got some things right,

Took to bed that last night,

And its still just as fresh as its true.

I'm a witness, I practice, and W O R K.

Love to me is not being a jerk.

I believe that the path,

  May have blessings and wrath,

And foul dangers be hidden and lurk.

I tell you that I have seen H O P E.

It first hit me when a dope.

I'm learning to share,

  A joint effort is there.

Course, she's got me a short rope.

I find a limerick is a more difficult means of poetry, and requires concentration to keep it flowing, and the meter often seems off.

"I can't stand the spelling of love"
LSS,
This was fun and a tantalyzing reminder of the fact that love is work.
Im a witness, I practice, and work
love to me is not being a jerk.
I believe that the path.
May have blessings and wrath,
And foul dangers be hidden and lurk.
This is just one stanza but I sure did enjoy the whole fun message.
Love is worthwhile, you are so right!
Thank you for your sharing this needed reminder.
Blessings,
Kathy

Very difficult indeed. I like this though. The definitions are great and that last line is a knee slapper. Well, it would be if it wasn't so true for me as well. :) Good work.

Cute dad. *grins* You're so much better at poetry than I. I think I should just give up while I'm a head. I'll work on short stories and maybe that will work out better.

Some time ago, I decided to write a humorous short story to give my wife on our 25th anniversary. The words and illustrations seemed to flow from my memory and imagination, about those early days w.. more..
