Mother Goose'dA Poem by LSSJust a modern twist to an old tale. The King was in his counting house counting all his money. The Queen was in her parlor, eating bread and honey. The Maid was in the garden, hanging out the clothes, When along came a Blackbird, and snipped at her nose.
The Queen got all excited. She called out for her Guard. "Go see what all that noise is, coming from the yard." The Guard broke down in laughter, when seeing that poor Maid, The Crow had left a small cut, in making his quick raid. The Maid was still there crying, blowing on her nose. And it had left a pattern, that looked just like a rose.
The Guard took rag to Queen-e, The Queen took it to King. The king put down his money, and said, "Amazing thing! We must put it on E-Bay! I'll sell it for a grand! There's not another treasure, as grand in all the land!"
Now there is moral somewhere, lying burried in this ode. That just the rich get richer, the poor get worked then sold. But I see something brighter, a glimmer in that yarn. That milk may often curdle, bringing cheese into the barn.
