Deterioration

A short description about how a couple's life can come to an end

Look at that couple over there, walking hand in hand
No-one can say a bad word, no-one can say they’re bland
You see them happy and you know, their love will never die
Every challenge they come up against, will always be defied
Looking at them from afar, affections as pure as a dove
You can’t help but say to someone “Look at those, in love”

Look at that couple over there, walking side by side
They love each other very much, but inevitably things slide
You see them smiling at each other, but you see that things will fade
the bond once so strong between, cut with a blade
You see them close, fitting like a glove
but you ask yourself “Are they in love?”

You see that couple over there, things are going bad
You can’t help but think “what a tragedy, so sad”
At the start, their love was blind, but now they’re starting to see
You know exactly what their thinking, “You’re not the one for me”
You see them apart, friends at a shove
You wonder to yourself, “Weren't they in love?”
