Chapter XXV: Zimzax's New World Order

The residents of planet Earth are now Zimzax’s slaves. Ballester and his friends are hired to drag anyone who doesn’t comply with Zimzax’s order of obedience to a detention camp. Ballester and the gang hate the job, but they see no alternative. Ruzal has been missing since the war, and no Scott has been found. It’s a literal hell on earth, as everyone is a slave. Serge’s previous way of doing things is gone. To gloat, the Zorkons have been eating Alfredo since his death, almost just bones at this point, a significant amount of time has passed. “No!” We’re not going with you!” The human resident of a house tells Ballester.

“Look, we don’t want to do this either, but we have to.” Manboutu tells him.

“So, why are you doing this?”

“Our lives are on the line. Just, look, you’re lucky you got us. The Zorkons aren’t as understanding as us, and they’re just ripping people out of their homes. If we die, then a Zorkon will force you out, they’ll even kill you in front of your family if you resist. Now, I’m going to ask you nicely again, for you and your family to get into the back of the truck.”

“Fine. Let’s go.” The man tells his family, as they leave the house and join the other people in the armored truck.

“This f*****g sucks.” Ballester tells Manboutu as they get in the front.

“I know, I wish Scorpious would do something.” Manboutu says.

“I’ve been trying since day one, and he hasn’t been listening.”

“Maybe something happened when Serge died, they were linked, remember?”

“Good point, I hadn’t thought of that.”

“We need to find a way to overthrow this f****r.”

“Yeah, we do.”

“Have you heard anything about your son?”

“Nope, nothing.”

“I’m sorry, bud.”

“Let’s just go, I just wanna get home.”

“Yeah, me too.” They unload the truck when they reach the detention camp, and head to the lab. Chimmy lets them through the gate, and they enter the building. Ballester and Manboutu stop by the lab.

“Today’s rounds are done, sir.” Ballester tells Zimzax.

“Excellent, soon the whole population will be in the camp.” Zimzax says.

“What are you going to do once they’re all rounded up?”

“Oh, exterminate them, of course.

“What? Why would you do that?”

“Oh, not right away, of course. First they have to finish my statue.”

“You didn’t answer my question.”

“We’re a race of conquerors, we use the old population to rebuild the planet in our image, then we erase all traces of it, then inhabit it.”

“You’re a monster!”

“Every species we conquer says that. It means nothing.”

“We’re going to stop you one day.”

“You couldn’t stop me when I got here, what makes you think you’ll be able to stop me now?”

“I don’t know, I’ll think of something.”

“Yeah, I’m sure you will. Go, I’ll see you tomorrow for you to pick up some more people.” Ballester heads to his apartment, and sits on the couch, just staring at the wall, when Gorgax comes in.

“Hey, hon.” Gorgax says to Ballester as she sits next to him.

“Hey.” He says back. NogalNyvar, and Oigres come in and go to their bedrooms. “You know, I don’t blame them for being pissed at me, I failed them. I failed you, I failed everyone, and I lost our middle son in the process.”

They’re not pissed at you, they understand. They’re under pressure too. I don’t like hunting for people any more than you do, and I’m sure Nogal hates having to reveal all those locations to Zimzax. And Oigres probably has the worst job of all, performing all those gross experiments.”

“What’s the difference between the experiments Oigres performs, and the ones Serge performed?”

“Serge’s experiments were completely voluntary, you said so yourself.”

“And?”

“And? And Oigres is forced to perform life altering or ending surgeries against both his will and the patients’.”

“Well, I’m sorry for rounding up your people to be put into slave labor.”

“You don’t have to apologize every day for that.”

Yes I do, your species came to help our species out, and what do you get for it? A hostile species comes in and undoes it all.”

“He threatened our lives if you didn’t complyYou’re just protecting us.”

“How am I protecting you if you’re going to be slaves and then executed anyway? I can’t die, so I’ll witness everything and I’ll have to live with it forever. By ‘protecting’ you now, I’m just prolonging the inevitable.”

“Would some sex help?”

“I’m going to bed, I gotta get up in four hours anyway.” Ballester and Gorgax head to bed and wake up to the klaxon alarm blaring, indicating that everyone has to get up and go to work. “Fuuuck, I JUST fell asleep.”

“Come on, we’re partnered up today.” They gear up and head to the lab.

“Oh good, you’re both here!” Zimzax says, happily. “Guess what I found?” He holds up Ruzal. “See, he was caught trying to send some prisoners free, and I thought, what better way to start the day than with an execution?”

“Mom! Dad!” Ruzal yells. Ballester and Gorgax both point their guns at Zimzax.

“Oops.” Zimzax says, as he drops Ruzal into the Grinder. Ballester and Gorgax look on in horror, stunned. Oigres, having just entered the room, drops to his knees and starts crying. “What’s everyone doing? You three have work to do. Let’s GO! MOVE IT!” Oigres, struggling to get to his work station, is grabbed by the neck by Zimzak. “I hope you were paying attention. If I find out you’re helping the prisoners, I’ll do the same to you.”

“Yes- yes sir.” Oigres says weakly.

“Today, you’re going to dissect a Galaxian, then, you will put its organs into a human. Then, we’re going to do the opposite.” His guards come in, with a Galaxian and a human chanied together, being pushed into the lab. “Well?” He slits the Galaxian’s throat. “Get moving.”

“Yes sir.” Meanwhile, Gorgax and Ballester are driving in silence for a while before Gorgax breaks it.

“We definitely have to do something now.” Gorgax says.

“I agree. But how?” Ballester asks.

“I don’t know, I was hoping you’d have a plan.”

“No, I’m still trying to process watching our son get ground up. God, I want to f*****g kill him! He needs to die!”

“We’ll get him, we just need to come up with something.”

“I can’t even concentrate on driving, you wanna switch?”

“Not really, I don’t even want to do this.”

“Me neither, but if we don’t-”

“Yeah, yeah, I know.” They stop at the first house and bang on the door. A Galaxian family of six, including a blind child are at the door.

“Due to Lord Zimzax’s new protocol, we are here to take you to a reassignment camp.” Ballester says, unenthusiastically and somberly.

“Please, we don’t want to go, we finally got settled in this human habitat three years ago! It’s right by some fresh water, we can’t abandon it now!” The father says.

“Look, we don’t want to either, but if you don’t comply, some Zorkons will show up and kill you in front of your family and- and-” Gorgax starts to cry.

“-and drag you foribly anyway.” Ballester finishes for her. “You’ll have to excuse her, but we just witnessed what we just described to you.”

“They killed someone in front of you?” The father asks.

“Our son.”

“I see.”

“Yeah, so if you would please kindly get in the truck, we have many more stops to-” Across the street, the Zorkons bust down a door, drag a family of humans by their hair outside, and the father tries to resist, only to get shot in the head, which sets the mother off, as she hits the Zorkon, only to get shot in the head too. The crying children are then forcibly picked up and thrown in the back of the truck, and the truck continues on down the street, stopping at another house and repeating the process. “See? They don’t care, we’re giving you a chance here.”

“Fine, we’ll comply.” The father says as the family gets loaded into the truck.

“I can’t keep doing this.” Gorgax says.

“Me neither, I wish there was somewhere we could go.”

“Well, our ships are still here, maybe we could take what’s left of our family and find another planet, there’s plenty of uninhabited worlds between this world and ours.”

“And just leave everyone else here to die? No, I’m not a coward.”

“So, you’d rather us be dead?”

“No, I’d rather we take that son of a b***h down once and for all. We need a way to thin their numbers first.”

     “That’s going to be difficult.”

“Well, we know they’re not immune to extremely hot temperatures or Corrodium. Unfortunately, Zimzax destroyed all that stuff.” They finish their rounds, and head back to the lab, where Oigres is sewing up a human.

“Oh good, you’re back! See how easy life can be when you just do what you’re told?” Zimzax says as he grins.

“F**k you.” Ballester says angrily, as he charges his way towards ZimzaxZimzax pushes Oigres into the Grinder, but Ballester keeps charging. Zimzax grabs Gorgax by the throat, and throws her into the Grinder too. As soon as Ballester goes to jump at Zimzax, he grabs him by the neck and slams him to the ground. Then, he drags Ballester, and pins his hands and feet to the wall with big, f*****g spikes.

“I told you not to mess with me, human.” He takes one last spike and jams it through Ballester’s heart. “Now you’re going to be displayed on my wall for eternity, experiencing death over and over forever while me and my minions laugh at you. This is where it ends, Ballester Sallone. Your story is now over.”

I’m only going to tell you this one more time: F**k. You.”

“That’s fine.” He shoves another spike through Ballester’s head. He erects a force field around Ballester and watches and laughs as Ballester comes to life and dies repeatedly. “I told you not to mess with me.”

“F**k.” Ballester dies, comes back to life. ”You.” Zimax just laughs at him.

“Pathetic human.”

“Sir, now that we have all of the slaves, what are the new orders?” a Zorkon asks.

“Proceed with the building of the statue, let me know when it’s finished. Get our remaining ships’ bombs prepared. We’ll carpet bomb the detention centers once we have no more use for them.”

“Yes sir.” Zimzax leans back in Serge’s chair, and starts puffing a blunt.

“It’s good to be king.” He smiles as he watches Ballester wake up, realize what happened to him, and die again. He gives an evil laugh of satisfaction as he puts his feet up on the desk. “This planet…Earth…will forever be known instead as Planet Zimzax, and I will rule it forever!” He delivers an evil laugh as the camera zooms out to the laboratory surrounded by his ships, and Zorkons beating slaves.
