Love Is A LieA Poem by Scorpious Alpha
Love is a lie, a neurochemical con job
It seems to happen to any old slob It's a drug that destroys the heart Once it's torn away from you, you're left torn apart Love does exist unconditionally But fades away romantically I've loved too much and am left broken Because I poured my heart out into words I've spoken To those in which I gave myself That left me in my own private hell Because of this, my love is dead And so it goes to family and friends instead I have yet to find my one true love Not sure she exists, just see above It's the only thing I've ever wanted out of life Instead, I've been stabbed in the heart with a knife Old fashioned love has long been dead And only exists inside our head Movies and tv, books and the like Have happy endings and never show the spike That gets driven into your heart eventually Because that's always the harsh reality Love fades as time goes on Because like I said, it's just a con © 2025 Scorpious AlphaFeatured Review
