White Knight Syndrome

White Knight Syndrome

A Poem by Scorpious Alpha

White Knight Syndrome
Is a blessing and a curse
In my heart it lives at home
If I'm not careful, I'll end up in a hearse
My subconscious need to help
Has hurt me very badly
Every time I do, I'm like, 'welp!'
Because it twists my love to madly
Only to get hurt by the ones I try to aid
Many mistakes I have made
Following my heart
I turn that pain to art
I make the mistake
Thinking my love will heal
But they just take and take
And it's my heart they steal
One day I learn our love was fake
And I'm left with a hole
Carved deep inside my soul
So here I am a broken man
Who feels like he can never love again
But I guess that's the price I pay
For trying to fix broken hearts
And so I just have this to say
Don't do it, or you'll be left in parts

This poem really captures the tension of giving too much and the frustration that can come from it. The way you describe repeated effort and the cycle of disappointment is vivid and relatable. I appreciate how you turn personal challenges into expressive writing--very compelling and insightful

Thank you, RomaJ, if I didn't have a creative outlet, I don't know what I'd do.

Hello, Scorpious Alpha, This poem resonates deep within me.
I also give all of my heart, even to just friends.
I cannot imagine feeling as the author claims to feel. (hearse)
In my studies, this author is confident, bold, daring, well, he is god!
I understand sometimes passion entertwines emotions.
You remind me of Bukowski in this way!
Melancholy makes poetry thrive.
This is beautiful!
