Psalm 119 Reflection

This is my song in reflection after a study of Psalm 119

From Aleph to Tav

From beginning to earthly end

My lips shall profess Your

Loving kindness, forever more, yes

From a flicker of hope

To a wild burning blaze

My heart shall grow

My soul shall be filled

What blessing, what joy

To have no secrets, no barriers

From You, Oh Lord

You are mine and I am Yours

From Aleph to Tav

From earthly end to eternity

Ahhhh...Ps 119 is one of my favorite psalms. The reference of "you are mine and I am yours" is actually quite biblically correct and other authors in the Bible also use romantic love as an image to show us the extent of spiritual love - the latter always on a higher level.

I am drawn to the ancient symbolic words Aleph and Tav. Gives the poem gravitas. "You are mine and I am yours" to me sounds a little too much like a Valentine's Day card (romantic love versus spiritual love), but I love the meaning behind it. Perhaps a re-wording of that line? "From earthly to eternity" is a line that makes the heart stir.

Good points all...Aleph to Tav are the alphabet A to Z in hebrew.. ahhh the you are mine and i am yours ..is the very deep relationship between myself and God.. not sure how else to describe that..thank you for the critique jane ..hugs and let me read more of you too!!!
