A poem written for my AP Language and Literature class at the beginning of senior year.

Blooming unnoticed, it's starting to fade.

A transformation.

Fool me twice, shame on me.

The world as I see it.

He's not coming back, no ifs, ands, or buts. And that's what hurts.

Everyone needs something to live for.

And that, I believe, is when my heart truly started beating.

I've never belonged here.
