I was once married to a redhead

Solar winds swept her hair

The fire hearts a burning

Touch her on a dare

If you think it will ease the yearning

Don’t mind the sign “Redhead Beware”

Just remember “Only you can prevent forest fires”

Melissa there are no rules. Poetry is just organized emotions and ideas. Like everything the more you do it the more you hone the skill. A good way to start is reading and researching. It's like sculpting. You start with a lump of clay and keep shaping it until it looks like something, lol.
