FidgetA Poem by Autumn de RueA bit on that panicky feeling I get when my anxiety acts up and what triggers it
The walls close in
Papers shuffling and students laughing I feel closed out and closed in Everything pounding in my head A nervousness I just can't shake spreading Deep in my veins Something in my head deep inside Pounding at my skull and longing to be free It's hard to breathe I should have stayed home so this This couldn't happen and I would be safe My chest tightens and my eyes sting Mind goes blank and it's hard to breathe I hope I get a grip as I fidget It's easier to move than to keep it all in Fidget It will be my saving grace
