Red Dahlia~

The white desert exhaled

jasmine

for the bride in the crimson gown

the sky gave

her green beryl eyes

a hint of sun

at the edge of the eclipse

her fingers light as apple blush

played the silk bodice like a song

unbraiding bones

waiting for the night to curl its smoke around her throat

 

for him

her memory was the ache

between the silver bullet

and the chamber

of his

heart . . . .

The final stanza of this poem is exquisite. It haunts the mind. I also can't help but think of the wedding in Kill Bill where she is riddled with bullets. I imagine that Bill felt something akin to what you've written in the last stanza. So beautiful! My final vision is of him at the end of the second film where he crumbles to the ground with his final breath of life. You've just got to love Quentin.
