I just want to say Hello againA Poem by desertravenI just want to say Hello, again
The leaves of time whirling twirling swirling around me reminding me, rewinding time, wanting me, to remember... A friendship like no other the life lessons we taught one another... At the bus stop Driftwood and Martinique, Two teen girls each very unique. Bonded like sisters, two and a half decades From crushes to vows, Memories cut like blades... We bonded for a lifetime Not merely a season. She was my conscious My voice of reason... Struck down by breast cancer in the prime of her life, She gave so much love as a mother and a wife. Lent me her ear or a helping hand. Why she died so young? I’ll never understand. She lived, loved and laughed And her will did not bend, Until the bitter end... I miss you, my friend. I just want to say Hello, again... Sandra Ferrara Gentry 11/2007 © 2008 desertravenAuthor's Note
