Hi! My name is Lila Rowan! Today is my birthday and I was hoping that I would discover a great fossil or artifact from long ago. You will never guess what happened! I actually found the best thing ever! I didn’t only find one thing but I found a whole sackful! Today, when I got to work I was ready to start the week. I was told “Happy birthday” from everyone. I pleasantly said “thanks” back and made my way to my desk. I found a stack of presents and opened them. A gift card here, and some candy there. Nothing major. I grabbed my bag and walked out the door to explore Aztec, Mexico. I had never been there so I wasn’t too sure I would find anything. I walked along the road. The breeze was nice for how hot it was out today. The soft winds were great but a few loose sand pebbles got in my mouth and were very disgusting. I could see for miles in the treeless environment. It was just me and the sand. I took another step and my foot hit something hard. A crack echoed through the desert. I reached down and picked what I stepped on up. I couldn’t tell what it was. I reached down and moved some more sand around. I found about thirty or so little frog shaped ornaments. I threw them all in my bag and pulled out my bing machine. A bing machine, in case you don’t know, is this awesome device that you send thoughts, information, or really anything you want to people anywhere in the world. I binged my boss and told him I got the best discovery ever. He replied almost immediately telling me to hurry back. When I arrived there was a surprise party waiting for me. The room smelled of chocolate and caramel. I opened another gift and it was a perfume that was called ‘Vanilla Lace’ and smelled delicious. I can’t wait to use it!

I like how you put so much into how it was her birthday, but if this is supposed to be about discovering the artifact that part isn't really necessary. Though, I guess since it is a diary entry one might right about that. Nice piece over all.
