Arrival at the Gates of Hell

Arrival at the Gates of Hell

A Poem by yossarian

I was but a loyal servant of God,
I was reverent.
I spent my hours in servitude of God.
Yet I was made to taste betrayal, forsaken
like a dying dog.
"You are chosen, God wants to pull you close",
said the monk.
Yet I knew in my deepest of heart that it was fallacy.
I was thrown aside, like a ragged cloth,
I was made to see the suffering of my beloved,
I was the cause of my beloved's endless torment.
Thus was when I decided to confront the ever forgiving.
I was made to see the suffering, the writhing pain,
I was pitied. Thus I made His fellow servants feel.
Devil was proud, hell was celebrating.
God declared me a sinner,
Thus I ended up at the gates of hell.
I was but a blithely sheep listening to the bellwether.
