As darkness falls

As darkness falls

A Poem by StraWbeRry-kiSs

As the darkness falls, I feel the blood dripping from the walls.
Your terrified calls slowly kill me inside.
I feel so helpless just sitting here.
Your painful voice rings in my ear.
I will never forget the pain and fright.
I will never forget that night.
There’s nothing you can do to make it all right.
All along it was me that needed to be saved, but you kept it a secret and tried to be brave.
I want you to be the one to dig my grave;
after all you were the one that killed me.
You couldn’t even say that you were sorry.
One day you couldn’t stand the thought of me getting hurt,
next day red alert.
Couldn’t let it go, just had to run.
Said I’d be the one.
I tried to run and get away,
but look at where I am today. Every night I still pray. Hoping that you didn’t get away
I’ll make you pay.
Won’t move me from where I lay.
I guess it will never be okay.
I will never see children run and play.
Never feel the sand through my toes,
or the wind at my nose,
If these are my last words, than here it goes:

Live each day as the first, not last.
Dwell in the moment, not the past.
Live your life for you, not him.
There is no end until you begin.

Keep on writing! Especially love these lines:

If these are my last words, than here it goes:

Live each day as the first, not last.
Dwell in the moment, not the past.
Live your life for you, not him.
There is no end until you begin.
