Crying out in Pain

I hope it never comes to this.

You kicked you screamed

Banged the walls with your fists

Then out the door you ran

 

I tried to get as far away

Before you caught up to me

 

On your knees

You begged and prayed

Crying out in pain

If only I would stay

 

The tears in your eyes

Made mine well up

I held them in the best I could

 

You hung to my leg

Asking me not to go

You said you wanted it too

 

I knew I had to leave

So I pried his fingers from my leg

and ran of the other way
