Lover's Dance

Lover's Dance

A Poem by Shayla Sayer

He spins her around

Skirt swirling like water

Gentle ripples of movement

Moving with the air

Currents of displaced clouds

Swimming with life’s tide.

A couple dances

Cars blaring past on either side

Swaying to music

No one but them can hear"

No one but them can fathom

No one but them even care.

He spins her around

Effortlessly

Naturally

With such ease

You’d never guess their secret.

He spins her around

The street blurs

Cars inexistent

There is nothing there but them

Alone at last

He kisses her softly

Dipping her low

In the middle of the sidewalk.

… They dance so effortlessly

Naturally

With such ease"

You’d never guess their secret.

… She’s standing on his toes.

Perfect...I kept wondering their secret...and it was surprising :) Had a very nice romantic quality to it.
